Tsitsipas celebrates 400th career win at the same tournament where he won his first
Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Luciano Darderi 6-3, 6-4 at the Shanghai Masters on 10 October 2026 for the 400th tour-level win of his career, nine years after his first in the same event.
Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas celebrated a landmark on Saturday 10 October 2026, defeating Italy's 18th seed Luciano Darderi 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Rolex Shanghai Masters for the 400th tour-level win of his career. The milestone came exactly nine years after Tsitsipas picked up his very first ATP main-draw win on the same courts in Shanghai, when he beat Karen Khachanov in 2017. The 28-year-old now holds a 400-204 career record and becomes the ninth active male player and only the fifth born since 1990 to reach the 400-win mark, joining Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev in that club. The victory set up a third-round clash with American Taylor Fritz. Tsitsipas, whose season has been patchy and clouded by changes in his coaching set-up, said the moment carried extra significance in the city where his senior career began. The ATP showcased the achievement as one of the signature stories of the Shanghai fortnight and a reminder of the former world No. 3's enduring presence in the men's game.
