Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the creation of a dedicated Kisan Bank, paired with Rs17 billion in subsidised loans aimed at farmers. The Kisan Bank is intended to give the farming community a structured source of agricultural credit, while the Rs17 billion subsidised loan scheme is designed to reduce the financial burden on farming households and expand their access to affordable capital. The two measures together represent a significant commitment of provincial resources to the agricultural sector. In a separate announcement, CM Maryam also declared an additional Rs5 billion for stroke treatment, directing further public health funding toward one of the province's medical priorities. The chief minister made both announcements as part of a broader package of policy initiatives. The Kisan Bank and the accompanying subsidised loan programme are expected to benefit agricultural producers seeking credit support across Punjab.
