Vietnam Airlines Named World's Best Culinary Airline, Ending Four Years of French Dominance

Vietnam Airlines claimed the World's Best Culinary Airline 2026 award, dethroning Air France, which had held the title since 2022, with Vietnamese-inspired menus on long-haul routes to Europe, Australia, and the US.

At the World Culinary Awards 2026, Vietnam Airlines was named the World's Best Culinary Airline, ending a four-year run by Air France, which had held the title from 2022 through 2025. The airline combines traditional Vietnamese flavours with international options tailored by route, with business-class menus featuring regional specialities and economy passengers receiving both Asian and Western-inspired selections. Menus can also vary by season, aircraft, and destination. Eligible passengers on long-haul routes — including services to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Melbourne, Sydney, and San Francisco departing from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City — may pre-order preferred meals at least 36 hours before departure. Elsewhere at the awards, Turkish Airlines International Lounges took the prize for best airline lounge dining, and London Heathrow Airport secured the airport dining category as the World's Best Airport for Dining 2026. Gatwick's Clubrooms at the South Terminal also received recognition, winning the airport lounge dining award. Together, the results highlight how food quality and regional flavours are increasingly shaping the overall passenger experience across international aviation.
