Trump warns 'we're gonna do a number' on Iran at Alaska rally
President Donald Trump told a rally in Wasilla, Alaska that the United States has 'had it' with Iran and will 'do a number' on Tehran, signalling fresh escalation in the 2026 Iran war.
At a packed campaign rally in Wasilla, Alaska on 14-15 October 2026, US President Donald Trump sharply ramped up his rhetoric against Iran, telling supporters, 'Wait till you see what we do to Iran. We're gonna do a number. We've had it.' Earlier that day on the White House lawn he had called Iran a 'failed country' with 300 percent inflation whose government was no longer paying its troops, saying a decision on Tehran would come 'very soon'. He did not specify whether the step would be military, diplomatic or economic, but reiterated that Iran would not be allowed a nuclear weapon. The warning came on Day 230 of the Iran war, as Houthi missiles targeted Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's East-West oil pipeline remained closed after drone strikes from Iraq, and the Saudi state oil company Aramco said its chief executive's office in the Eastern Province had been hit. Tehran, through the head of its Supreme National Security Council, called the latest US negotiating offer 'insufficient', while hardline MPs moved to impeach Foreign Minister Araghchi over unauthorised meetings with US envoy Steve Witkoff.
