Billy Crystal Opens "860" on Broadway, a One-Man Show Born From the Palisades Fire
Billy Crystal's autobiographical solo show "860" officially opens at the Imperial Theatre in New York on its scheduled October 21 premiere night, drawing on the loss of his home in the 2025 Palisades fires to explore memory, laughter, and resilience.
Billy Crystal's new one-man show "860" held its official Broadway opening night on October 21, 2026, at the Imperial Theatre on West 45th Street, New York, after three weeks of previews beginning October 1. The title refers to the 860 homes destroyed in the 2025 Palisades fires — including Crystal's own. Written and performed by Crystal and directed by Olivier Award-winner Scott Ellis, with original music by Marc Shaiman and scenic design by Scott Pask, the 1-hour-40-minute show (no intermission) weaves together memories of family, friendship, and formative moments, framing them with the grief and dark comedy of losing his lifelong home. Crystal has described the show as "a hilarious and intimate story about family, friendship, love, luck, and loss," and as a testament to laughter's power to survive catastrophe. The limited engagement runs through January 3, 2027. Standard tickets start at $101, with $59 digital lottery and rush options. The show marks Crystal's return to Broadway following his Tony-nominated run in "Mr. Saturday Night" in 2022.
