Angel Reese Delivers Historic Double-Double to Level WNBA Finals

Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds — one of the greatest individual Finals performances in WNBA history — as Atlanta beat the Golden State Valkyries 79–65 in Game 2 to tie the 2026 WNBA Finals series at 1–1.

Playing at Chase Center in San Francisco on 20 October, the Atlanta Dream responded to a Game 1 defeat by dominating the Golden State Valkyries 79–65 to level the 2026 WNBA Finals series. The performance centred on Angel Reese, who posted 30 points and 16 rebounds — including 12 on the defensive end — becoming only the third player in WNBA history to record that statistical line in a Finals game, alongside Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones. Reese scored eight points in the opening quarter and had 15 at the interval, continuing her onslaught in a third quarter where Atlanta outscored Golden State 22–9 in a 15-2 scoring run that turned a close contest into a rout and made the fourth quarter a formality. Allisha Gray added 18 points and Jordin Canada contributed 13 points and 10 assists in support. For Golden State, Gabby Williams managed 14 points but shot an inefficient 3-of-15 from the field. The victory gave Atlanta home-court advantage for the rest of the best-of-five series, with Game 3 scheduled in Atlanta.
