About 50 senior Samsung Group executives gathered with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman at the company's Human Resources Development Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, to discuss how AI could reshape corporate management and unlock new business opportunities.

About 50 senior executives from Samsung Group — including presidents and top leaders from its electronics, finance, and biotechnology affiliates — met with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on Saturday at Samsung's Human Resources Development Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The gathering was held under the theme "The Next 10 Years Shaped by AI: The Enterprise's Choice," with participants and Altman sharing perspectives on AI's future direction, potential applications, and emerging business opportunities. Discussions focused especially on how AI could transform corporate decision-making and organisational management, and what leadership qualities executives will need in a shifting business environment.

Before the meeting with Altman, the executives completed hands-on generative AI training, practising how to organise business data into personalised knowledge bases and use AI-generated insights to support management decisions. The session marks Samsung's second major executive AI programme, following an initial one in June 2026. The group has trained around 2,300 executives since June and aims to finish AI training for all employees by February 2027. Samsung has also been expanding AI across R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and administration since June, with each affiliate building its own adoption strategy.

The event underscores a deepening partnership between Samsung and OpenAI that now reaches beyond chip supply into AI infrastructure and enterprise services. A letter of intent signed in October 2025 covered global AI infrastructure, including memory chip supply for OpenAI's Stargate project. The relationship has since grown to include the deployment of ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to Samsung employees in South Korea and its global Device eXperience division — described as one of OpenAI's largest enterprise rollouts.
