SpaceX Shares Surge 8% After Blowout Q3 Earnings Fuelled by AI Boom

SpaceX reported 161% revenue growth in Q3 2026, with its AI business growing ninefold, sending shares up roughly 8% in extended trading and pushing its market cap past $2 trillion.

SpaceX delivered a stunning set of third-quarter 2026 results that far exceeded Wall Street expectations, with revenues growing 161% year-on-year and its artificial intelligence services division expanding ninefold in the same period. The results were announced after the market closed on Tuesday, October 20, pushing shares in the company (ticker SPCX) up approximately 8% in after-hours trading. By October 21, the stock was trading around $159–$160, giving SpaceX a market capitalisation of roughly $2.01 trillion. The strong print revived broader optimism about the artificial intelligence trade: US equity-index futures rose, with S&P 500 futures adding 0.29% and Nasdaq-100 futures climbing 0.7%. The MSCI Asia Pacific Index also climbed 0.6%, led by South Korea's Kospi rising 1.9%. SpaceX's blowout quarter reinforced its status as one of the leading commercial beneficiaries of the AI infrastructure buildout, and its results set a buoyant tone for the week's heavy earnings slate, which also includes Tesla reporting on the same day.
