Tesla Reports Q3 2026 Earnings After the Bell: Deliveries Beat But Profits Under Pressure
Tesla released its third-quarter 2026 financial results on October 21, with the EV maker having delivered 486,532 vehicles — beating analyst estimates by about 5% — but facing expectations of flat revenue and earnings per share down roughly 10% year-on-year.
Tesla reported its third-quarter 2026 earnings after the US market closed on Wednesday, October 21, with the results closely watched by investors amid continued concerns over pricing pressure and profit margins. The company had already disclosed vehicle deliveries of 486,532 units for the quarter — beating the analyst consensus of 461,974 by roughly 5.3%, but still down 2.1% from its all-time record of 497,099 vehicles in Q3 2025. On the financial side, Wall Street had forecast flat revenue of approximately $28.1 billion, broadly level with the $28.1 billion Tesla reported a year earlier, with non-GAAP earnings per share expected at around $0.45, down about 10% from $0.50 in Q3 2025. Analysts noted that even with stronger deliveries, consensus revenue estimates implied lower average selling prices — reflecting ongoing margin pressure from aggressive pricing strategies. Tesla also reported energy-storage deployments of 13.7 GWh in the quarter, up 9.6% year-on-year but falling short of the roughly 15.9 GWh analysts had expected. The earnings call, including a Q&A webcast, was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The report was one of the most eagerly anticipated in the current earnings season.
