Unknown Assailants Fire on Same Neukölln Café for Second Time in a Week
Early on 16 October, gunmen shot at a café on Silbersteinstraße in Berlin-Neukölln for the second time in five days; investigators from the special unit 'Ferrum' of the State Criminal Police are handling the case.
In the early hours of 16 October 2026, unknown assailants fired again at a café on Silbersteinstraße in Berlin-Neukölln — the second shooting at the same premises within five days. The first incident had occurred on the night of 13–14 October. In both cases, shots were fired from a passing car at the closed café, leaving multiple bullet holes in the storefront and building facade. No injuries were reported in either incident. The special unit 'Ferrum' of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office, which focuses on organised crime, violent groups and extortion, took over the investigation. Berliner Zeitung reported that shootings targeting businesses in Neukölln occur with troubling regularity: a suspect was arrested in August for an alleged March shooting at a different Neukölln café on Hermannstraße, and a bar on the same street was targeted in April. The repeat targeting of the same premises within a week prompted the Berliner Zeitung and Tagesspiegel coverage that circulated widely around 19–20 October.
