Ruoning Yin Defends Buick LPGA Shanghai Title with One-Shot Victory

Chinese golfer Ruoning Yin closed with a 68 to finish 11 under par at Sheshan Golf Club, defending her Buick LPGA Shanghai title by a single stroke over South Korea's Hye-Jin Choi and claiming her seventh LPGA Tour win.

Ruoning Yin of China successfully defended her Buick LPGA Shanghai title at Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, finishing at 11 under par (277) after a final-round 68 to win by one shot from overnight co-leader Hye-Jin Choi of South Korea, who finished at 10 under (278). Amy Yang was another two shots back in third at 8 under. The 24-year-old from Guangdong province overtook Choi during the final round before holding her nerve to seal victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. The win was Yin's seventh on the LPGA Tour and her second title of the 2026 season, reinforcing her status as one of the most consistent players on tour. She collected $480,000 from the tournament's $3.2 million purse and earned 500 CME Globe points in the race to the season-ending championship. The Buick LPGA Shanghai is one of the LPGA Tour's marquee events in Asia, played over 72 holes with no 36-hole cut. The tournament, run without a cut across 76 of 81 starters completing all four rounds, attracted a stellar field to Sheshan's manicured layout on the outskirts of Shanghai, where Yin's local knowledge and crowd support proved an additional advantage on the final day.
