SpaceX AI Division Beats Expectations, Now Accounts for 52% of Revenue

SpaceX's Q3 2026 earnings revealed its AI and data-centre segment generated $7.5 billion — 52% of total revenue — turning a $431 million profit and marking the company's dramatic pivot away from its space roots.

SpaceX reported third-quarter 2026 results on 20 October showing total revenue of $14.6 billion, with its 'Super Intelligence' AI business unit contributing $7.5 billion — making artificial intelligence the majority of the company's income for the first time at 52%. The AI division, which includes the Grok chatbot, the Cursor coding tool acquired earlier this year, and the company's rapidly expanding data-centre network, posted a $431 million profit. Net income for the quarter reached $4.4 billion, a dramatic turnaround from a $1 billion loss in Q3 2025. SpaceX now operates 1.7 gigawatts of computing capacity and is scaling toward 200,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell systems coming online per month through year-end. The company spent $19.6 billion on capital expenditure in the quarter and plans a further $35–40 billion in Q4, primarily for the Colossus II data centre and continued Starship development. CEO Elon Musk projected the Super Intelligence segment would generate between $500 billion and $1 trillion in annual recurring revenue by end of 2027. Year-to-date the company still carries a $413 million net loss owing to front-loaded capital spending.
