Settler attack in West Bank village of Yasuf kills Palestinian man at his home
Israeli settlers opened fire on two Palestinian men in Yasuf in the occupied West Bank, killing one at his doorstep and wounding another amid a surge in settler violence.
Israeli settlers shot and killed a Palestinian man at his home in the West Bank village of Yasuf, south of Nablus, and wounded another resident on 1 October 2026, Palestinian officials and local medics said. The attack was the latest in a sharply escalating pattern of settler violence across the occupied West Bank that human-rights groups have documented since the start of the Gaza war. The Palestinian Authority condemned the killing and demanded international protection for civilians living under occupation. Israeli police said they were investigating. The incident came the same day the Danish Refugee Council reported that Israel's military 'Yellow Line' demarcation inside Gaza had been expanded from roughly 58 percent to about 70 percent of the Strip's territory, preventing many displaced Gazans from returning home almost a year into a fragile post-October 2025 ceasefire. Israeli strikes elsewhere in Gaza City and the southern Strip also killed two Hamas members, including a sniper identified as Tamer Hamaida, as Prime Minister Netanyahu called for intensified operations after the FlyDubai incident.
