Tokio Hotel Play Album-Release Show at Berlin's Velodrom
Tokio Hotel launched their new album 'Encore' with a live release show at the 12,000-capacity Velodrom in Prenzlauer Berg on October 25, with a follow-up arena show at Uber Arena already booked for November.
Magdeburg-born Tokio Hotel performed an album-release concert at the Velodrom in Prenzlauer Berg on October 25, marking the live launch of their new record 'Encore', which was released on October 16. The 12-track album has a runtime of just 35 minutes and explores themes of inner conflict, separation, and emotional excess — with alcohol recurring as a lyrical motif. Streaming data for each track shows a striking divide: the five most-streamed songs each cleared one million plays, with lead track 'Changes' reaching approximately 3.84 million streams, while the least-streamed cut, 'Terminal 1', recorded around 131,000 plays — a gap of almost 30-fold within a single album. All five million-plus tracks — 'Changes', 'Memory Lane', 'California Nights', 'Without You', and 'Dye My Hair' — were released as advance singles before the album, giving them a head start in accumulating streams and playlist placements. The band, fronted by singer Bill Kaulitz, will follow the Velodrom show with a second Berlin performance at the larger Uber Arena in Friedrichshain on November 7, a venue that holds 17,000 people.
