International Chefs Day 2026: 'Food Explorers' Campaign Unites Chefs Worldwide
On 20 October — International Chefs Day — Worldchefs and Nestlé Professional launched the 2026 'Food Explorers' campaign, rallying over 100 chef associations globally to celebrate culinary professionals and educate new generations about where ingredients come from.
International Chefs Day, observed every year on 20 October, marked its 22nd anniversary in 2026 with a campaign co-organized by Worldchefs and Nestlé Professional under the theme 'Food Explorers.' The campaign encourages people of all ages — and particularly children — to discover the origins of their ingredients: how food is grown, harvested, and why sustainable sourcing matters. More than 100 national chef associations took part, hosting local competitions, school workshops, live cooking demonstrations, and networking events in cities across every continent. Worldchefs framed the day as both a celebration of culinary excellence and a recruitment tool to inspire the next generation of professional cooks. The British Culinary Federation issued a dedicated call to its members to participate, while OneWorld News and other outlets highlighted chef celebrations in Asia. The global event underscores the growing cultural status of professional chefs and the food industry's role in shaping sustainable habits.
