Queens pet owner pleads for help finding stolen Yorkshire Terrier
Police release surveillance images of two suspects accused of snatching a 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Chanel from a lawn in College Point, Queens.
NYPD detectives are asking for the public's help finding two people who they say stole a 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier from a front lawn in College Point, Queens. According to police, the dog – a female named Chanel – was taken from a home near 130th Street and 14th Avenue on September 17 around 6 p.m. Surveillance images released this week show a woman coaxing the dog and a man scooping her up before the pair bundled her into a 2014 Subaru Forester and drove west on 14th Avenue. The dog's 47-year-old owner was not home at the time; the terrier is valued at $1,200, making the case a grand larceny. The owner says she does not know the suspects. Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. The appeal was one of amNY's most-shared items on October 17.
