'Rent' Reunites Its Original Cast for a 30th Anniversary Broadway Concert
More than 50 performers, including all twelve original cast members, will take the stage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on 26 October 2026 for a one-night-only 30th-anniversary concert of the Pulitzer- and Tony-winning rock musical, with in-person tickets sold out and a $30 worldwide livestream available.
The Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical 'Rent' marks its 30th Broadway anniversary with a one-night-only concert on Monday, 26 October 2026, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. All twelve original cast members are returning to the roles they made famous, including Tony winner Idina Menzel, Tony nominee Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tony winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia and Fredi Walker, alongside Yassmin Alers, Gilles Chiasson, Shelley Dickinson, David Driver, Darius de Haas and Rodney Hicks. They will be joined by a broad roster of Rent alumni — among them Tony winners Renée Elise Goldsberry and Aaron Tveit, and Jordan Fisher — with more names still to be announced. More than 50 all-stars and special guests are expected on stage in total. Five-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif, the show's original director, returns to helm the evening, while original music supervisor Tim Weil leads original band members Kenny Brescia, Jeff Potter and Daniel A. Weiss. In-person tickets are sold out, but a $30 livestream ticket is on sale for audiences worldwide. The concert is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Andy Jones of Baseline Theatrical. Jonathan Larson's groundbreaking work, which reimagines La Bohème in New York's AIDS-era East Village, first opened at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre in 1996 and ran for 5,123 performances before closing in September 2008.
