After more than three decades of acclaimed television work, multi-Emmy-winning actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus made her long-awaited stage debut on Broadway's opening night of Sunday 18 October 2026, in a revival of Jon Robin Baitz's drama "Other Desert Cities" at the Hudson Theatre on West 44th Street, New York. She takes the role of Polly Wyeth, the formidable matriarch of a wealthy Palm Springs Republican family whose uneasy truce is shattered when her daughter Brooke, a novelist, threatens to publish a memoir exposing a long-held and devastating family secret. Ed Harris plays her husband Lyman, a former Reagan-era diplomat; Allison Janney plays recovering-alcoholic sister Silda Grauman; Lily Rabe is daughter Brooke; and Joe Keery is son Trip. The revival is directed by Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey and features scenic design by Scott Pask and lighting by Natasha Katz. Previews began 29 September; by the first full week the show had already sold out all seven performances and grossed $1,879,441 — extraordinary numbers for a non-musical. The original play premiered at Lincoln Center Theater in 2011 and was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The limited engagement runs through 17 January 2027.
