Hokusai's Complete 'Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji' Opens at Dulwich Picture Gallery
The first UK showing of all 46 prints in Hokusai's iconic Fuji series — including an exceptionally rare 'Blue Fuji' and three impressions of 'The Great Wave' — opened at Dulwich Picture Gallery on 20 October, running until 17 January 2027.
A landmark exhibition uniting all 46 prints in Katsushika Hokusai's celebrated series 'Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji' opened at Dulwich Picture Gallery in south London on Tuesday 20 October 2026, running until 17 January 2027. The prints, drawn from the Iuchi Collection, were created between 1830 and 1833 when Hokusai was in his seventies. This is the first time in the UK that the complete set — the original 36 prints plus the 10 additional works that expanded the series — has been brought together in one place. Exhibition highlights include an exceptionally rare blue impression of 'Clear Day with a Southern Breeze,' known as Blue Fuji, of which only seven comparable impressions are known to survive worldwide, as well as three well-preserved impressions of 'The Great Wave.' The show opened in the gallery's newly expanded complex in the London Borough of Southwark, which added a pavilion and sculpture garden in 2025. Tickets are priced at £21.50 and the gallery opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10am–5pm. The exhibition was featured in Londonist's guide to things to do in London for the week of 19–25 October and drew visitors on its opening day.
