Airtel Money prices London IPO at about five billion pounds, biggest since 2021
Airtel Mobile Commerce priced its London IPO at 1.96 pounds a share, valuing the mobile-money carve-out at about 5.3 billion pounds, roughly seven billion dollars.
Reports collated into 10 October 2026 confirmed that Airtel Mobile Commerce N.V., the mobile-money arm carved out of Bharti Airtel's African operations, had priced its London initial public offering at 1.96 pounds a share, giving it a market capitalisation of about 5.3 billion pounds, equivalent to roughly 7.0 billion US dollars. Investing.com and Mint reported that conditional dealings on the London Stock Exchange started on 9 October, with unconditional trading due on 14 October, making the deal the biggest UK IPO in five years and the largest London listing since 2021. The flotation is a win for Chancellor Rachel Reeves' government, which has been pushing to lure growth-company listings back to the City after years of New York dominance. Airtel Money operates across 14 African markets, where it competes with Vodacom's M-Pesa and MTN's MoMo, serving tens of millions of customers who use their phones for payments, savings and remittances. Analysts said the pricing at the top of the indicative range reflected strong institutional demand for African fintech exposure and could encourage further emerging-market listings in London.
