Anthropic Files for IPO, Disclosing $16.3 Billion in First-Half Revenue
Anthropic publicly filed its S-1 prospectus on 26 October, revealing explosive revenue growth and planning to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT later this fall.
Anthropic, the AI safety company behind the Claude family of models, publicly filed its S-1 investor prospectus on 26 October 2026, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated technology IPOs in years. The filing disclosed $16.3 billion in first-half 2026 revenue, a dramatic leap from just $4.6 billion for all of 2025 — representing roughly a 13-fold increase year-on-year. Despite the growth, Anthropic posted a net loss of $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, compared with $42 billion in 2025, reflecting enormous compute and infrastructure investment. Anthropic employed approximately 5,300 people as of 30 September, generating revenue per employee of about $6.6 million — second only to Nvidia among major tech companies. The company applied to list on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley leading the offering. The IPO is reportedly only weeks away. The S-1 warned that the insurance industry as a whole may not be sufficient to cover the liability Anthropic could face in the event of a catastrophic AI-related incident — an unusually candid risk disclosure for a tech prospectus. Wall Street is expecting Anthropic to hit the market at a $2 trillion valuation.
