Deutsche Kinemathek Among Berlin Weekend Highlights with Restored Films from 20 Countries

The Deutsche Kinemathek is one of several cultural highlights recommended for Berlin's fourth October weekend, showing restored films from twenty countries alongside fashion pop-ups and art events across the city.

Berlin's fourth October weekend, running from Friday to Sunday, October 23 to 25, comes with a bonus: the clocks go back overnight on Saturday, handing the city an extra hour to fill. The Berliner Zeitung has rounded up events across shopping, cinema and art to make use of the time.

For film lovers, the Deutsche Kinemathek is screening restored films from twenty countries, offering audiences the chance to see archival cinema from a wide range of national film cultures.

On the shopping side, Overkill is opening its archive on both Saturday and Sunday in aid of a good cause. Fans of high-quality knitwear and fashion can browse pop-up events at the KaDeWe and at Open House, while Sunday brings a separate vintage market focused on 90s and early-2000s clothing at bargain prices.

Those drawn to the visual arts can visit Kunstraum Kreuzberg, where artist Tanja Ostojić presents work that reflects on themes of body, borders and resistance.

The Berliner Zeitung has compiled the full list of recommendations covering all three days of the extended autumn weekend.
