Savoy opens a new wine bar with 120 wines by the glass
The Strand's grand hotel launched a dedicated wine bar using tech-led preservation to pour more than 120 wines by the glass, including rare vintages.
The Savoy on the Strand has opened a dedicated wine bar inside the hotel, offering more than 120 wines by the glass thanks to new preservation technology that keeps opened bottles stable for weeks. Time Out London covered the launch in a story that fed into weekend city-break coverage across 17-18 October 2026. The list spans everyday pours alongside rare and vintage bottles that would usually be out of reach as full-bottle buys, with the bar team pricing by small, medium and standard measures. The space, within the Grade II-listed hotel on the north bank of the Thames just east of Charing Cross, mixes polished stone, deep velvet and brass detailing. Time Out praised it as 'one of the most London openings of the autumn' and said the move puts the Savoy in direct competition with Mayfair's wave of specialist wine bars that have opened over the past two years. The news was a top London hospitality item for the weekend and drew bookings from well-heeled visitors in town for the BFI London Film Festival finale.
