Aespa Cuts Seattle Concert Short After Member Giselle Falls Ill
K-pop group aespa continues its Seattle show as a trio after member Giselle leaves the stage mid-concert due to worsening cold symptoms.
SM Entertainment confirmed on October 10, 2026 that aespa member Giselle had been forced to leave the group's Seattle concert the night before, part of the ongoing 'Synk: Aexis Line' world tour. The Japanese-Korean rapper and vocalist had been battling cold symptoms that worsened during the opening set at Climate Pledge Arena, and medical staff advised she withdraw. Fellow members Karina, Winter and Ningning performed the remainder of the show as a trio, including fan-favourite tracks 'Supernova' and the group's newer 2026 singles. SM apologised to international fans travelling to the U.S. date and said Giselle would rest ahead of the group's next concert, with a decision on later tour stops to follow. Korean entertainment outlets Koreaboo, Soompi and allkpop led with the news on October 10, while Billboard and Rolling Stone picked up the story for Western audiences. Fans flooded social media with messages wishing Giselle a swift recovery and praising the three remaining members for finishing the roughly two-hour set. The incident refocused attention on gruelling K-pop tour schedules, which have seen several high-profile cancellations and withdrawals this autumn.
