Rockstar Drops Surprise GTA 6 Launch Trailer Ahead of November 19 Release

Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer on October 15 without any advance warning, revealing new story details about protagonist Jason and featuring a brand-new track from electronic duo Justice.

On October 15, Rockstar Games quietly dropped the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 online with no prior teasing, giving fans their biggest look at the game yet as its release date approaches. The one-and-a-half-minute clip offers insight into protagonist Jason's backstory: he explains that he got into trouble in the army, didn't leave on good terms, and can't get loans as a result, hinting that he may feel trapped in a life of crime and looking for a way out. The trailer also makes it clear that Jason and co-protagonist Lucia share a close romantic relationship, including an intimate shower scene — a notable moment for the franchise. Alongside the expected gunfights, car chases, and criminal action, the trailer introduces a new song called "Flower in a Hurricane" by electronic duo Justice, who also composed the game's original score. The track features guest appearances from Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and Rockstar has confirmed it will be included on the game's official soundtrack release. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
