Eisbären Berlin's winning streak ends against Red Bull München
The German ice-hockey champions suffer their first home loss of the season, falling 3-4 to EHC Red Bull München at a sold-out Arena am Ostbahnhof.
Tagesspiegel's DEL match report, still prominent on 18 October 2026, covers Eisbären Berlin's 3-4 home defeat to EHC Red Bull München, their first home loss of the season after six consecutive wins. In front of 14,200 fans at the sold-out Arena am Ostbahnhof, Ty Ronning opened the scoring for Berlin before Ryan Murphy equalised just 13 seconds later. Liam Kirk restored the lead, but Taro Hirose made it 2-2 only 18 seconds into the second period. In the final third, Munich turned the game around through a power-play goal by Elis Hede in the 49th minute and a strike from Yasin Ehliz in the 58th. Kirk pulled one back in the dying seconds for his second of the night but it was too late. Despite the loss, the Eisbären remain top of the DEL table.
