Looney Tunes Voice Actor Eric Bauza Dies at 46

Eric Bauza, the Emmy Award-winning voice actor behind Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and dozens of other beloved Looney Tunes characters, has died suddenly at his Los Angeles County home at the age of 46.

Eric Bauza, the Emmy Award-winning voice actor who gave voice to nearly the entire Looney Tunes roster for a new generation, died at his home in Los Angeles County. He was 46. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause. His family announced the news on his Instagram account on Sunday.

Bauza was the definitive modern voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Road Runner, and Charlie the Dog, among dozens of other beloved characters — an extraordinarily rare achievement in animation. He was one of the industry's most in-demand voiceover artists, accumulating more than 400 acting credits across series including "Avatar: The Last Airbender," "Space Jam: A New Legacy," and "Rick and Morty."

Nominated for five Daytime Emmy Awards, Bauza took home three Children's & Family Emmy Awards for his work on "Teen Titans Go!," "Bugs Bunny Builders," and "Looney Tunes Cartoons." Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks Chairman Channing Dungey praised his 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, saying he "followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc."

Bauza was born on December 7, 1979, in Scarborough, Toronto, and began his animation career as a character designer at a Hollywood production studio. At the time of his death, he was in pre-production on two projects: "Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical" as Daffy Duck and "The Dragon Masters" as The Shogun King.
