Spandau starts building new path for Staaken's 'Green Ring'
Spandau district office said it would start building a new footpath and cycle path along the Nördlicher Rieselfeldabfanggraben drainage ditch on 28 September 2026, as part of the 'Green Ring' around Staaken.
In a press release dated 25 September 2026, the Spandau district office announced that construction of a new path along the Nördlicher Rieselfeldabfanggraben would begin on 28 September 2026. This is a drainage ditch on former sewage farm land (Rieselfelder) in the Staaken area on Berlin's western edge. The project is part of the 'Grüner Ring Staaken' (Green Ring Staaken), a planned network of green paths around the neighbourhood. The new section is meant to link existing routes and improve access to open space. The excerpt available to me didn't include the length of the path, its cost, funding or completion date. Readers should check the original release. Note on the date: this release was published on 25 September 2026, not on the requested 29 September 2026. It is included as a fallback because no berlin.de press release dated 29 September could be found during research.
