Legendary East End Café E Pellicci to Launch Christmas Pop-Up at Selfridges
Historic East End café E Pellicci is partnering with Selfridges' Brass Rail restaurant from 2 November for a Christmas pop-up serving its classic Italian-style dishes on newly pedestrianised Oxford Street.
E Pellicci — the legendary East End café that has been feeding Londoners for more than a century — is launching a Christmas pop-up at Selfridges' in-house Brass Rail restaurant from Monday 2 November, running through Christmas. The Brass Rail, which recently celebrated 60 years of serving salt beef sandwiches, will offer a festive menu of Pellicci classics: pasta with pesto or ragù, the 'Big Bang Ciabatta' stuffed with chicken schnitzel, mozzarella and ragù with pesto on the side, a Pellicci-style reuben with toasted salt beef, sauerkraut, mozzarella, pesto and gherkin, and school cake with custard. An exclusive E Pellicci pantry range — olive oil, pesto, brown sauce and coffee — along with branded t-shirts and caps will also be available at Selfridges Foodhall. Nevio and Anna Pellicci described the tie-up as an exciting "East End vs West End collaboration at Christmas." Lucy Menendez, director of food and restaurants at Selfridges, said the 60th anniversary called for a partner who shares the Brass Rail's spirit, and that bringing Nevio and Anna's food to Oxford Street was the perfect way to toast two London institutions. Selfridges is at 400 Oxford Street, W1A 1AB.
