Regent Street's 2026 Christmas display — 30 illuminated spirit figures made from 300,000 LEDs — will switch on 5 November, with a traffic-free ceremony and a charity Wishing Tree.
Regent Street's 2026 Christmas lights display, titled 'Spirit of Christmas', will feature 30 spirit figures constructed from 300,000 LED lights. The display covers Regent Street, Jermyn Street and St James's Market, with additional twinkling lights on Glasshouse Street, Swallow Street and the Quadrant Arcade. New additions have also been promised for this year. The switch-on event takes place on Thursday 5 November 2026, with Regent Street closing to traffic from 5pm to 9pm for a family-friendly celebration with activities in local shops. Once lit, the display runs daily from 3pm to midnight through to 5 January 2027. Returning this year at St James's Market is the illuminated Wishing Tree: visitors tap to make a £5 donation to food charity The Felix Project and watch the tree come to life with twinkling lights.
