Delhi chosen to host WTTC Global Summit 2027
The World Travel & Tourism Council named New Delhi as host of its 2027 Global Summit, picking India from 22 bidding destinations at the Malta meeting.
On 10 October 2026, at the close of the WTTC Global Summit in Valletta, the World Travel & Tourism Council announced that New Delhi will host the 2027 edition of its flagship event. India was selected from 22 destinations that had bid for the summit, which is expected to draw more than 5,000 travel and tourism CEOs, government officials and investors. WTTC research projects India will leap from the 10th-largest travel-and-tourism economy in the world to the fourth by 2036, and the Delhi event is pitched as a chance to showcase expanding airport capacity, hotel pipelines and the country's visitor economy. The announcement in Malta also carried the WTTC's eight European tourism priorities, forecasting sector contribution of US$3.8 trillion by 2036 and more than 50 million jobs, with international overnight arrivals rising from 757.3 million in 2025 to 1.14 billion by 2036. The summit's tentative month in Delhi is October 2027. Indian travel-trade press and global tourism outlets led with the story on 10 October.
