An Se-young Claims Ninth Title of the Year with Denmark Open Victory

South Korean badminton star An Se-young beat Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 21-23, 21-14, 21-18 in Odense to win the Denmark Open for the second consecutive year and claim her ninth international title of the 2026 season.

An Se-young secured her ninth international title of the 2026 season at the BWF Denmark Open in Odense, Denmark, defeating world number three Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in a three-game final at SJF Bank Arena. Yamaguchi took the opening game 23-21, but An fought back to win 21-14 in the second and 21-18 in the third. The victory was An's second consecutive Denmark Open title and extended her winning streak over Yamaguchi to 10 consecutive matches. The 22-year-old Korean finishes the year with a staggering 61 wins from 62 matches, her only defeat coming at the All England Open final back in March. An's 2026 title haul includes six BWF World Tour titles, the Asian Championships, the World Championships and the Asian Games gold medal. She now heads to the French Open seeking a tenth title of the season, a feat that would cement her as one of the most dominant players in the sport's modern era.
