Jay-Z Announced as Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show Performer
Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation produces the NFL's Super Bowl halftime show, announced during Monday Night Football that he will take the stage himself at SoFi Stadium on 14 February 2027.
Jay-Z announced during Monday Night Football that he will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, to be held on Valentine's Day 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement is notable because Jay-Z, through his entertainment company Roc Nation, has co-produced the halftime show with the NFL and Apple Music for several years — overseeing performances by artists including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Anderson .Paak and Bad Bunny — but has never appeared on the halftime stage himself. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that when the Roc Nation production deal was first struck, he made just one request: that Jay-Z eventually perform whenever the moment felt right. In a statement, Jay-Z said: "From 'Reasonable Doubt' to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true." His debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," was released in 1996. The game will be the second Super Bowl staged at SoFi Stadium, following Super Bowl LVI in 2022, and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN and streamed on the ESPN App and NFL+ on mobile.
