Ozzy & Black Sabbath Concert Film Opens in Cinemas Worldwide
The concert film capturing Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's final performance together at Villa Park, Birmingham on 5 July 2025 opens in cinemas across the world on 28 October 2026.
Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, a Mercury Studios concert film directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce — who also edited Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour for Disney+ — opened in cinemas worldwide on 28 October 2026. The film captures the all-day festival held at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, England on 5 July 2025, where Ozzy Osbourne performed a solo set before reuniting with Black Sabbath's original lineup — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward — for the first time in 20 years. The event was hosted by Jason Momoa and also featured Disturbed's David Draiman, Halestorm, Travis Barker, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Slayer, Pantera, Tool and Alice in Chains. Some 42,000 fans attended in person, with another 3 million watching via a paid livestream. Producers describe the film as a "fully immersive audio-visual experience." The concert was filmed just 17 days before Osbourne died on 22 July 2025 following a yearslong struggle with Parkinson's disease, making it his final stage appearance. Sharon Osbourne said the event came about because Ozzy told her the only thing that would make him happy was the chance to perform again and say goodbye to his fans. The film is distributed by Trafalgar Releasing and was produced by Mercury Studios; the live concert itself was produced by Jim Parsons, Jamie Silk and Dan Seliger, with Tim van Someren directing on the night.
