Tate Modern Lates Turns 10 with Shygirl Club Night at Bankside
Tate Modern's monthly late-night cultural event programme celebrates its tenth anniversary on 30 October 2026 with an evening headlined by Shygirl, who brings her legendary club night to the South Tank, supported by DJ sets from BAMBII, JD Reid and Manni Dee, alongside performance poetry and after-hours gallery tours.
Friday 30 October marks ten years since Tate Modern launched its regular late-night programme, Tate Lates, which has grown into one of London's most established cultural fixtures, bringing together visual art, contemporary music, performance and club culture. The tenth anniversary edition sees Shygirl bring her legendary club night to the South Tank, with DJ sets from BAMBII, JD Reid and Manni Dee performing against visual backdrops from the Swallow! universe. Further sets from Wrap Collective, Ms. Sankofa and Naima Adams will take place at various points around the building. The evening also features performance poetry from Apples and Snakes, collaborative artwork-making sessions led by artist Lakwena, and special after-hours gallery tours with a focus on LGBTQIA+ artists and artists of African heritage. Since its launch a decade ago, the Bankside programme has made a point of drawing younger art fans through its doors each month, exploring the cultural meeting points between visual and sonic artforms.
