Uber Eats Awards in Berlin: Frankfurt's Onda Wins €40,000 Prize, Nhas City Chicken Takes Audience Award
At the third Uber Eats Awards ceremony in Berlin, Korean fried-chicken restaurant Onda from Frankfurt took the top prize and €40,000, while Berlin institution Nhas City Chicken — with over 30 years of history and four Berlin locations — won the audience vote.
The third annual Uber Eats Awards ceremony was held at the Koch- und Grillakademie in Berlin's Marzahn district. Onda, a Korean fried-chicken restaurant from Frankfurt, was named the overall winner and received the main cash prize of €40,000 after scoring perfectly across all judging categories. Owner Hyo Seon Lee, who now runs three Frankfurt branches, was visibly moved to tears when star chef Tim Raue presented her with the award on stage. The four finalists were chosen from 135 nationwide nominees; food content creators evaluated regional public votes and selected one favourite each for the finale, where a jury — including Tim Raue, actress and cookbook author Janina Uhse, Uber Eats Germany General Manager Lukas Erlebach, and previous year's winner Elias Klein — made the final assessments. Runner-up was Lokmam from Hamburg, specialising in Adana kebab, followed by Chicken House from Essen in third place and Greek restaurant Alati from Schwerin in fourth. The audience favourite award — decided by public vote among the Uber Eats community — went to Nhas City Chicken, a Berlin institution with more than 30 years of history and four locations across the capital; its family-recipe grilled chicken and garlic parmesan wings generated viral attention online, earning it a following well beyond Berlin.
