Vietnam Airlines Becomes First Asian Carrier to Win World's Best Culinary Airline

Vietnam Airlines claimed the World's Best Culinary Airline title at the 2026 World Culinary Awards, becoming the first Asian carrier ever to receive the honour at the seventh annual ceremony held at Princess Grand Jamaica.

At the seventh annual World Culinary Awards ceremony, held at Princess Grand Jamaica, Vietnam Airlines was named World's Best Culinary Airline 2026 — the first Asian carrier in the award's history to claim the title. The airline earned the recognition through its seasonal and route-specific in-flight menus, designed to offer passengers a different culinary experience on every journey. Business class travellers on South Korean routes can enjoy dishes such as bibimbap, bulgogi, and ginseng chicken soup (samgye-tang), while those flying between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City may be served the smoky Hanoi pork speciality bún chả or chewy cao lầu noodles. Economy passengers also benefit from a varied offering, including a signature croissant at breakfast and meals featuring rice or spaghetti with sauce, a bread roll, and dessert. Executive Vice President Dang Anh Tuan said the prize marked "a proud milestone for Vietnam Airlines and a testament to our commitment to delivering an exceptional in-flight dining experience." The airline is targeting five-star service standards by 2030. Elsewhere at the ceremony, London Heathrow took the World's Best Airport for Dining 2026 title, beating rivals including Dubai, Hong Kong, JFK, and Paris, while Gatwick's Clubrooms at the South Terminal won World's Best Airport Lounge for Dining 2026.
