Halloween at Kew Gardens Runs Illuminated Trail Until 1 November
Kew Gardens' Halloween light trail, which began on Friday 16 October, continues nightly until Sunday 1 November, offering illuminated trees, ghoulish installations and fire performers across three time slots.
Halloween at Kew, produced by the same team behind Kew's popular Christmas trail, launched on Friday 16 October 2026 and runs nightly until Sunday 1 November. From 16 to 24 October the event runs 6pm to 10pm; from 24 October to 1 November the hours extend slightly earlier, running 4pm to 10pm.
The trail features eerie illuminated trees, ghoulish installations and fire performers, with a troupe of actors on hand to add some family-friendly fright. Visitors can pick from three time slots to suit their scare threshold: Daylight sessions, available during half-term week only, are held in the daytime and are aimed at younger children who prefer minimal spookiness; Twilight slots run between 6pm and 7:30pm for a moderately darker atmosphere; and Moonlight slots begin after 7:30pm when full darkness sets in. The trail is described as suitable for all ages at every session. Separately, Zog-themed activities inspired by Julia Donaldson's children's book run at Kew until 3 November.
The trail covers approximately 1.5km and typically takes between one and one-and-a-half hours to complete. Adult tickets cost £19.50 off-peak or £24 at peak times; children aged 4–15 pay £13 off-peak or £17 peak; under-fours are free but must still be ticketed. Family tickets (two adults, two children) are £60 off-peak or £76 peak, and members receive a discount of around £3.
