Long Night of Swimming in Berlin pools until 2 a.m.
Berlin's public pools invite swimmers to the Long Night of Swimming, open until 2 a.m. with music, lights and themed lanes.
Berlin's municipal pools are opening their doors late into the night for the 'Lange Nacht des Schwimmens' on the Saturday after 17 October 2026, keeping lanes open until 2 a.m., according to a dpa report in the Tagesspiegel. Across several pools of the Berliner Bäder-Betriebe, visitors can swim lap-style lanes, join aqua-fitness classes, listen to live music and watch underwater light shows. Some locations run family slots in the early evening and switch to a more club-like atmosphere later in the night, with coloured lights and DJs on the pool deck. The event, now a fixture on Berlin's cultural calendar, aims to show the public pools as more than functional spaces for school training and lap swimming. Tickets apply as on normal day visits at participating pools, and families with children are encouraged to come in the first hours.
