FKA Twigs to Curate Meltdown Festival 2027 at Southbank Centre
London-raised musician FKA twigs has been announced as the curator of the Southbank Centre's prestigious Meltdown festival, running 10–20 June 2027, and will headline with a landmark solo performance.
The Southbank Centre has announced that Grammy and MOBO Award-winning electronic artist and London native FKA twigs will curate the 2027 edition of Meltdown festival, running from 10 to 20 June 2027 across the venue's multiple stages. She will also headline the festival with a one-off "landmark" performance. Meltdown is a two-week celebration featuring gigs, participatory events and after-hours parties; previous curators have included David Bowie, Grace Jones, Nick Cave, Little Simz and Harry Styles. FKA twigs said she intends to showcase London's "diversity, freedom and creative energy," drawing on her personal journey through the city's music and arts scenes. The 2027 edition will also debut a new initiative called "Hometown Meltdown," a nationwide touring version of the festival taking place in grassroots venues in six musician-curators' hometowns. Full line-ups and ticket sale dates are yet to be announced.
