The Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark rink in Neukölln offers free public skating on 30 October from 3 to 6 p.m. before its official season opener on 31 October, kicking off Berlin's winter rink circuit.
Berlin's 2026/27 ice skating season is rolling out across the city, with at least 12 venues opening between October and late November. The Werner-Seelenbinder-Sportpark rink in Neukölln holds a free "Open Ice Rink" event from 3 to 6 p.m. on 30 October before officially opening on 31 October 2026. A 100-euro season pass is available there, and skate hire starts at 3.50 euros per hour. The Sportforum Berlin in Hohenschönhausen has already been open since 12 October. The Erika-Heß-Eisstadion in Wedding aims to open its outdoor area on 1 November, subject to weather conditions, according to district councillor Benjamin Fritz (CDU). The Dark Matter Winterlights rink follows on 4 November and runs through 14 February 2027. The Winterquartier Berlin in Friedrichshain and the Lankwitz rink both open on 6 November. Later in the month, the Strandbad Grünau and Potsdamer Platz rinks open on 13 November — the latter running until 10 January 2027 — while the Horst-Dohm-Eisstadion in Wilmersdorf opens on 16 November. The Rübezahl rink at Müggelsee opens mid-November, and the Seebad Friedrichshagen rink opens 27 November. Entry prices vary widely by venue: several public stadiums charge 4 euros, while the Dark Matter Winterlights rink charges up to 19 euros at weekends. Skate hire ranges from 3.50 to 9 euros. Opening dates for a handful of rinks, including the Eissporthalle Charlottenburg, have not yet been announced.
