People's Question Time Returns to Islington: Londoners Quiz Assembly Members Live

The London Assembly held its annual People's Question Time in Islington on 21 October, giving residents the chance to challenge elected members on transport, housing, policing and the economy, chaired by ITV broadcaster Charlene White.

People's Question Time 2026 took place on Wednesday 21 October at a venue in Islington, running from 7 pm to 9 pm, and was free to attend (registration required). The event is one of the London Assembly's flagship public engagement sessions, giving ordinary Londoners an opportunity to question their elected representatives face to face. This year's session was chaired by ITV news broadcaster Charlene White. The panel included London Assembly Members representing Labour, the Conservatives, the Greens, the Liberal Democrats, Reform UK and Independent groupings, with Andrew Boff AM serving as Assembly Chair. Five core topics were on the agenda: transport; policing and safety; air quality and the environment; housing and planning; and London's economy. The session was also available to watch via livestream from 6:45 pm, with a live-chat function for online viewers to submit questions. British Sign Language interpretation, speech-to-text (palantypist) services, and full transcripts were available on request, and the venue was fully wheelchair accessible with an induction loop. Online registration had closed on 14 October, but walk-in attendance was permitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
