London bus and tram fares to rise for the first time in three years
From 1 November 2026 single bus and tram fares climb 10p to £1.85, with the daily cap also going up, Transport for London confirms.
Time Out London reports that London's bus and tram fares will rise on 1 November 2026 — the first increase in three years after Mayor Sadiq Khan extended his earlier fare freeze through the cost-of-living crisis. Single adult bus and tram fares will go up by 10p to £1.85; the Hopper fare giving unlimited journeys within one hour will also be £1.85. Concession card fares rise by 5p, and the daily bus-and-tram cap will go from £5.25 to £5.55. Tube fares are being kept at current levels for now, with any changes typically coming at the regular March review. TfL frames the rise as necessary to keep buses funded while sheltering the lowest-paid passengers who rely most on them, but Londoners used to a long freeze face a noticeable step up on commutes, school runs and shopping trips from the start of November.
