BFI London Film Festival rolls into its final weekend
Time Out spotlights free Film Festival events on 17 October including a Club Kid DJ night, a memoir Q&A with screenwriter Andrew Davies and a locations quiz.
The 70th BFI London Film Festival, running 7–18 October 2026, enters its last full weekend around 17 October 2026 and Time Out London's rundown of its free events is one of the week's most-visited guides. On Saturday 17 October alone the festival hosts a Club Kid-themed DJ night from 9pm to 1am, a 1pm book signing and conversation with screenwriter Andrew Davies at the Reuben Library on his new memoir, and a film-locations quiz at 5pm. The festival spreads across the South Bank, with screenings and events at BFI Southbank, BFI IMAX and the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, and this year's programme includes premieres such as 'Elsinore' with Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman. Combined with the final weekend of Frieze London in Regent's Park, the festival finale is drawing significant crowds into central London despite the weekend's transport closures.
