Time Out Crowns Ozzy's Apizza in Finsbury Park as London's Best Pizza
Time Out named Ozzy's Apizza at The Bedford Tavern in Finsbury Park the best pizza in London, praising its rare New Haven-style coal-fired thin crust as 'crisp, charred and entirely unfloppable.'
Time Out has declared Ozzy's Apizza, a pub residency at The Bedford Tavern on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park, the best pizza in London. Ozzy's specialises in New Haven-style pizza — a Connecticut-born, coal-fired thin variety known locally as 'apizza' — and is one of very few London establishments offering this style. Time Out's Ella Doyle praised the distinctive base as 'crisp, charred and entirely unfloppable, with a serious, satisfying chew.' The restaurant first launched in Los Angeles in 2021 and now operates in New Haven, Glendale, Canoga Park and — most recently — Finsbury Park. Its London home grew from a friendship between Craig Taylor, a New Haven Gooner, and Milo Oddi, a local, who both learned their craft at the New Haven branch. The menu includes classics such as cheese, pepperoni and sausage, alongside a British-inspired option featuring clams, salty potato scallops, pecorino and tartar sauce. Ozzy's is the second New Haven pizza outfit to call The Bedford Tavern home; the first was Lenny's Apizza, which has since moved to a new space in Covent Garden.
